Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Patrons often highlight the exceptional quality of the breakfast offerings, notably the Sunflower Breakfast and the Veggie Breakfast, which promise to kickstart the day right. The atmosphere shines through with its casual yet cozy setup, making it a favorite spot for local gatherings. The homemade coleslaw served with jacket potatoes has amassed a loyal following, drawing people back for another bite. Excellent service is consistently noted, with staff creating an approachable and warm environment that resonates with visitors.

Guests also rave about the delightful desserts, especially during afternoon tea—a true indulgence that complements their exquisite tea selection. The ambiance offers a refreshing retreat from the chaos of the high street, allowing for a relaxing meal or a comforting cup of coffee. Overall, it’s the combination of exceptional food, friendly service, and a tranquil atmosphere that keeps everyone coming back.

Most Disliked

While The Sunflower Bistro garners most positive reviews, some visitors express disappointment regarding limited parking options. Paid parking lots and street parking can pose a challenge, especially during peak hours or busy weekends.

A few patrons mention that seating can fill up quickly during busy periods, which may require a short wait—especially for popular meal times like weekend brunch. While the cozy environment adds charm, some may find it slightly cramped when the bistro is at full capacity. Lastly, fans of hearty portions might feel that some dishes could use a bit more on the plate, particularly with their lighter lunch specials.

I shouldn't review this place as it is what you would call a "hidden gem"! However, the owners deserve to have the recognition deserved. Recently renovated, this is a lovely little cafe style restaurant, serving an excellent menu including sandwiches, full meals and even afternoon tea. We visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon for their Sunday Roast. It was quiet, possibly due to the weather, but we had booked just in case. The meal was freshly cooked, beautifully presented and tasted delicious. There are options for 1, 2 or 3 courses but we had to stop at 2 as the portions were plentiful. The service was excellent too and we will definitely be returning in the future.
